Tame the Dragon is a class where we gain knowledge about how to cultivate our inner peace and channel it through every movement, every part of our day, every challenge and every obstacle that we encounter. By using Qi-Gong, Taichi and Kungfu exercises and principles we learn how to ground ourselves properly, how to manage our energy expenditure and how to gain a healthy and joyful discipline.
The use of Kungfu is as a practicing tool, as it is an explosive and therefore physically challenging sport that teaches major discipline and precision. My research is in how to find the joy and tranquillity within these physical challenges, as it is very common to get frustrated when we are in the process of learning and to put ourselves down when it is actually not needed. It only negatively impacts our growth and also our happiness. Failing is essential for learning and improving, so it is something to be treasured. This is not a ‘’dance’’ class, it’s a class about the mind and its role in fueling our inner fire.
Basically, it’s therapy whilst training to become a Kungfu Panda. So let’s rock ‘n roll.
