Groundwork and Partnering
This workshop offers technical training focused on movement rooted in an articulated, supple, agile, swift, and powerful body. We’ll use the richness of spinal movement as our motor: curves, twists, spirals, linked movements, undulations, and combinations. Special attention will be given to functional anatomy, observing points of support and weight transfers to maximize movement potential. We’ll move through floor practices with simple acrobatic movements, jumps, and glides. Contact work will involve building structures and strategies that progressively unfold from subtlety to shared paths of greater complexity. We’ll develop listening and collaboration skills, practicing various aspects of focus, detail, precision, and play.
