Description of the activity

The class will consist of a warm-up, where we will be opening our joints, relaxing tensions, making connections in the skeletal system and sensitizing the whole body. Followed by an individual work where we will explore different qualities of movement and physical sensations connecting with the imaginary.

We will focus on movement sequences with changes in dynamics, working on posture, gaining spatial awareness, improvising together and connecting with the pleasure of movement. My desire is to transmit my experience as a dancer and provide tools for everyone to express themselves through their body.

Imparted by

Lorena Justribó Manion

Dancer, choreographer and performer (Barcelona, Spain).

She started dancing as a child and hasn't stopped moving ever since. She started at the Estudi de Dansa Anna Maleras and continued her studies at the Center de Dansa Ramón Solé as part of the De Cap a Peus company with choreographies by Esther Sabaté.

She graduated with honors in contemporary dance from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and immediately after she became a member of the Metros Company of the director and choreographer Ramón Oller.

In 2010, she moved to Germany to dance at the Braunschweig State Theatre, under the director and choreographer Jan Pusch, participating in her pieces and those of guest choreographers such as; Jo Strømgren, Yossi Berg and Oded Graf among others. During this period, she had the opportunity to create her own dance piece, "Coco". This process awakened her need to explore new creative paths and she decided to move to Berlin to start as an independent dancer.

Throughout her career, she has worked with inspiring artists such as Annabelle Bónnery (Carte Blanche), Quan Bui Gnoc (Les Ballets C de la B), Ania Aristarkhova, Jiri Bartovanec and Judith Sánchez Ruiz. In her more than 13 years as a professional dancer, she has stepped on the stages of the Teatro Real in Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Tanzhaus Zurich, Halles des Schaerbeek in Brussels, Saddler's Wells in London, the National Theater of Catalonia, and the Hong Kong Grand Theatre.

Since 2015 she has been part of the cast of Sasha Waltz & Guests, starring in "Romeo et Juliette". She is currently reproducing the piece "In C" in Mexico and will soon be dancing in the piece "Kreatur", both by the choreographer Sasha Waltz.
