Description of the activity

From January 8 to 25 we will divide the training sessions:

Monday and Wednesday with Patrícia

We will explore the expressive power of dance in the abstract. Through improvisation and structured exercises we will establish a common vocabulary with which to communicate. In a very dynamic way we will experience the body as a mobile architecture that transforms, we will investigate some of its infinite possibilities by working on dynamics, textures and qualities of movement. To develop physical material we will delve into our body, in relation to a partner, and in a group. We will work on the musicality of our movement, our relationship with space, our stroke, drawing and its duration. We will challenge the ephemeral and thus transform our perception of time and space. We will start from physical principles, to then reach the emotion of the executor and the receiver. The primary objective of this workshop is to open up the body, deploy your imagination, and all your creative potential and find enjoyment in dance and movement.

Tuesday and Thursday with Noé

When I rehearse, I like to work on what doesn't seem important, so we'll think about some of these things to bring to our dance. Qualities, rhythms and places from which to move will be the basis on which to build and improvise.

From January 29 to February 1 they will guide the training together:

Improvisation, partnering and contact. We propose tools to expand and share our dance with a partner. We will share physical weight vocabulary, explore contact points and improvisation guidelines, in pairs and individually. Passeggiata danzata is a physical dialogue, where the encounter with another body is the generator of movement. We will work on listening to understand and adapt to the rhythm, speed, direction, quality and texture of the other body. The workshop will be divided into a more technical part, where we will work on partnering and contact exercises to familiarize ourselves with the weight and with the idea of expanding the floor to the body of the other; and in an improvisation part, where we will share our individual dance with that of another person, so we will see how it is affected. We will investigate different ranges of connection, spatial and rhythmic, from minimal contact to a lot of contact. At the end of the workshop we will have a free space to put into practice the shared tools and to have a dancing dialogue with other bodies.
