Description of the activity

Conflict movements

Workshop where we propose to enjoy, explore and get excited with our dance from experience. It costs of three parts:

1. MOVEMENT RESEARCH: Delve into the unknown mystery of our body by taking risks, touching the limits, the extremes and their contrasts.

2. We unite this part with the REAL EXPERIENCE through the composition, where we will insist on the dramaturgy with the material of the performers to know what we do and why when it comes to telling stories, whether they are abstract, philosophical, contemplative or narrative . The important thing is the experience.

3. We also play the FLOORWORK that is focused on the use of spirals, fast transitions to challenge coordination, resistance and the use of capoeira acrobatics in the development of phrases. These elements will merge into a practice focused on grounding, efficiency, fluidity, and connection through space on and off the ground.

ELELEI was born in 2019 from the collaboration between Sabrina Gargano (Barletta, Italy) and Rafa Jagat (Valencia), bringing together the idea of being able to bring together their own dance and theater journeys, to unite them as a disciplinary language.

Motivated to tell stories, to ask the why of things, and so that they could be assimilated by the public, their first work A CIEGAS was born in 2020, winning the FIRST PRIZE of the MAIS IMAGINARIUS festival in Portugal in 2021 and the PUBLIC PRIZE in the 35th International Choreographic Competition Hannover 2021.

In addition to A CIEGAS, in January 2021 they create the physical theater film MAY YOU LISTEN? belonging to the formation of Jasmin Vardimon's young company JV2 in England and released in May 2021. In May 2022 they release MARATHON in Sadlers Wells, London, as a collaboration again with Jasmin Vardimon's JV2 company.

His second work "SOY MADERA" was released on May 26, 2022, co-produced by the MAIS IMAGINARIUS festival in Santa Maria da Feira. They collaborate with different collectives and companies as an external perspective, direction and dramaturgy.
