Description of the activity

Passeggiata dansata

This is a workshop on improvisation, partnering and contact. We propose tools to expand and share our dance with a partner. We will share important physical vocabulary, explore points of contact and improvisation patterns, as a couple and individually. Passeggiata danceata is a physical dialogue, where the encounter with another body is the generator of movement. We will work on listening to understand and adapt to the rhythm, speed, direction, quality and texture of the other body.

The workshop will be divided into a more technical part, where we will work on partnering and contact exercises to familiarize ourselves with the weight and the idea of expanding the ground to the other's body; and in an improvisation part, in which we will share our individual dance with that of another person, so we will see how it is affected. We will investigate different ranges of connection, spatial and rhythm, from minimal contact to a lot of contact.

At the end of the workshop we will have a free space to put the shared tools into practice and to dialogue and dance with other bodies.
